The tracker is where bugs and ideas for etyOS are kept. Anyone can read it, write to it, vote and comment. There are no accounts.
A good bug report
One problem per report, and enough for someone else to see it happen:
- What you did, step by step, from a state anybody can reach.
- What happened.
- What you expected instead.
- Where: the version (Settings > About, or
/etc/etyos/version), and the machine when it may matter: graphics card, one screen or several, real hardware or a virtual machine.
For anything about windows, the screen or the session, the end of the session log helps:
tail -n 80 ~/.local/state/yawc/session.log
Read what you paste first. Everything in the tracker is public: leave out passwords, keys, addresses and anything private a log may hold.
Before writing, search: the form also shows reports that look alike as you type the title. If yours is there, press the arrow on it instead (“I have this too”) and add what you know in a comment. Ten votes on one report say more than ten reports.
A good idea
Say what you want to do, and when you miss it, before how it should look. “I keep three text files open and switch between their windows” is something to design from; “add tabs” is one answer to it.

| Nirvana and the applet SDK | Components, the runtime, writing applets |
| Built-in applications | Settings, Files, Terminal, Store and the rest |
| Netbird | The browser |
| Installer | Installing the system |

Statuses
| Status | Means |
|---|---|
| Open | Reported; nobody has decided anything yet |
| Planned | It will be done; not started |
| In progress | Being worked on |
| Done | Made. It reaches you with the image or version the changelog names |
| Not planned | It will not be done, with the reason in a comment |
A comment from the team is marked “Team”.
How the tracker treats you
- No account, no email. A name is optional and is shown as typed.
- A check that you are a person (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs before a report or a comment is accepted. Voting needs none.
- Your address is not stored. A salted hash of it is kept, for two things only: to count a vote once, and to hold back a flood.
- What you write is shown as text, exactly as typed; links are made clickable, nothing else is interpreted.
- The team can hide what should not be there (spam, private data posted by mistake). If you posted something private, say so in a comment on the report and it will be hidden.
Security problems
Do not put a way to break into a system in a public report. Write a report that says only that you have found a security problem and in which part, and the team will ask how to reach you.
